International Master in Engineering Large Infrastructure Projects (IMELIP) is a joint initiative between Ecole Hassania des Travaux Publics in Casablanca (Morocco) and Oxford Academics (from Oxford).

International Master in Engineering Large Infrastructure Projects (IMELIP) is a joint initiative between Ecole Hassania des Travaux Publics in Casablanca (Morocco) and Oxford Academics (from Oxford).

IX Academics operates IMELIP in the name of Oxford Academics and in partnership with IndeXpertise (Paris) and Ecole Hassania des Travaux Publics (Casablanca).

IX Academics Executive Certificate in Project Engineering is awarded to applicants who successfully passed all lectures of the IMELIP programme in either of the following settings:

  • in English, in class (face-to-face)
  • in English, at distance (virtual class)
  • in French, in class (face-to-face)
  • in French, at distance (virtual class)

and who successfully passed

  • tutored individual case studies
  • and tutored teamwork case studies

Block 1: Requirement engineering (200 hours)

  • OA7101-1: Identification of project and governance.
  • OA7101-2: Requirement analysis and qualification of definition.
  • OA7101-3: Validation and characterisation of project scope.
  • OA7101-4: Project economical and strategic justification.
  • EHTP1: Requirement engineering for large infrastructure projects (regulatory, environmental, programmes, social and society requirements).
  • Tutored OA7101-I individual case studies
  • Tutored OA7101-T teamwork case studies

Block 2: Project plan engineering (200 hours)

  • OA7102-1: Project feasibility and logic.
  • OA7102-2: Project organisation and structure.
  • OA7102-3: Task schedule and progress.
  • OA7102-4: Analysis and management of performance and deviation. 
  • EHTP2: Project plan engineering for large infrastructure projects (finance, industrial organisation, estimation techniques, regulatory and customs).

Block 3: System engineering (56 hours)

  • OA7201-1: System configuration analysis and management.
  • OA7201-2: Requirements for logistic support.
  • OA7201-3: Integrated logistic support and Total Cost of system.
  • OA7201-4: Acquisition process and contract management.
  • EHTP3: System engineering for large infrastructure projects (interface management, digital technologies, maintenance and support, dismantlement strategies).

Block 4: Project portfolio engineering (56 hours)

  • OA7202-1: Product assurance and project assurance.
  • OA7202-2: Project FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
  • OA7202-3: Project Risks and portfolio mutualisation.
  • OA7202-4: Organisation and processes to manage project portfolio.
  • EHTP4: Project portfolio engineering for large infrastructure projects (infrastructure projects and programmes, management of lessons learned, risk management and insurance coverage).

Optional:

Block 5: Project monitoring (56 hours)

  • OA7203-1: Analysis and management of time-deviation during project.
  • OA7203-2: Comparative analysis of time-deviation at data date and at completion.
  • OA7203-3: Resources integration into project schedule.
  • OA7203-4: Project Earned Value Management. 
  • EHTP5: Project monitoring in large infrastructure projects (software packages in use, PMO missions, claim management, information systems).

Block 6: Project competence engineering (56 hours)

  • POLY4-4: ICB4 practice competences.
  • EHTP6: Project competence engineering in large infrastructure projects (recruitments, regulatory management of foreign employees, HSE – Health Safety Environment – management, posts and skills).

Block 7: PRINCE2© and project governance (56 hours)

  • POLY6-1: Introduction to PRINCE2©, andPRINCE2© principles.
  • POLY6-2: PRINCE2© themes.
  • POLY6-3: PRINCE2© processes.
  • POLY6-4: Analysis of PRINCE2© practices.
  • EHTP7: Project governance in large infrastructure projects (client relationships, quality assurance, direction and stop strategies).

Block 8: Professional dissertation (200 hours)

Knowledge and Understanding

  • The construction of a requirement baseline (including making requirements measurable and characterized) and definition baseline for in Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • Both economic and strategic value analysis of Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • The identification of ILS (Integrated Logistic Support) as an answer to RAMS requirements (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) for Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • Methods to estimate time and cost in Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • Methods to evaluate performance status during execution of in Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • Applications of Earned Value Management (EVM) for Large Infrastructure Projects.
  • The integration of Large Infrastructure Project management into project portfolio management.

  • How to assure the “best price” for a Large Infrastructure Project.
  • Diagnosis of most common failure/success factors in Large Infrastructure Projects.

All applicants must hold:

  • An honors degree or equivalent. i.e. professional qualification, or higher.
  • in exceptional cases substantial experience in the field of Project Engineering, or a closely related discipline. e.g. Project Management, Risk Management, Lean Methodology)

Eligibility will be determined by means of an interview with the Programme Leader.

Applicants for whom English is not a native language must also demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
